An Illinois sex offender search can be conducted on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. The Illinois State Police (ISP) are in charge of maintaining the registry and making it accessible to the public. The registry is kept up to date to allow citizens to ensure their family’s safety concerning dangerous offenders and predators around their home or in their neighborhood. To ensure accuracy, and to keep tabs on offenders, all sexual offenders and predators must register on an annual basis for ten (10) years. After which, they are no longer required to register. This does not apply to certain offenders (predators, and sexually dangerous or violent offenders), who must register every ninety (90) days for the remainder of their life.
