The background check authorization form is a document that allows a company or individual to perform a query into someone else’s criminal and credit history. The person being searched, or the “releasee”, agrees to hold the company or individual performing the check harmless of any wrongdoing no matter what they find. Typically a query into someone’s criminal history will show any arrests related to misdemeanors or felonies committed by the releasee. Upon the signature of the releasee, the company or individual requesting the background check has the right to lookup any records with the information provided to them.
Reference Letter Authorization – Holds a previous employer harmless of liability related to information provided about a previous employee.
